Walk the Camino de Santiago with Destination Whatever

If you have been dreaming about your own pilgrimage through the rolling countryside and timeless villages of Northern Spain, the Camino de Santiago is the perfect place to begin. On this eight day journey, we will walk the final 100 kilometres of the historic route into Santiago and you will receive your Compostela certificate to mark the accomplishment. Along the way there will be time to savour fresh Spanish food, enjoy the scenery, and take in the slower rhythm of the trail. It is an active trip at a gentle, picturesque pace, designed to let the experience sink in.

Day by day itinerary
Hike from Sarria to Portomarín throughout the course of the day. Pass through many lovely towns along the way and maybe choose to have a picnic in places such as Barbadelo, Renta or Ferreiros. Today's Distance: 23 km, 14.3 miles, 6 to 8 hours.
Early start from Portomarin, continue walking through fantastic scenery with a rich history en route to Palas de Rei. This stretch is a mix of ups and downs through beautiful scenery. The entire area has a rich history, especially during the Middle Ages. Today's Distance: 22 km, 13.7 miles, 6 hours.
Continue walking through rural Spain. Take a break in the lively market town of Melide and try octopus, Galicia's most classic dish, in one of the many 'pulperías'. Covering about 15 km today, the day passes through many lovely villages and towns along the way. Today's Distance: 15 km, 9.3 miles, 4 hours.
Follow the Camino from Melide to the village of Ribadiso and finally the town of Arzúa. The Camino crosses several streams and follows a forest track to the village of Boente with its church of Santiago. In Arzúa, visit the churches of Santa María and A Magdalena. Today's Distance: 13 km, 8.1 miles, 4 hours.
Walk through pretty woods, sleepy villages and across streams most of the day. The chapel of Santa Irene, with its unique statue of Santiago, is worth a visit. The route to Amenal is along a mix of calm country roads and forest tracks. Today's Distance: 26 km, 16.2 mi, 6 hours.
Enjoy a final day of walking through spectacular scenery towards the final destination. Leave early to reach Santiago de Compostela in time for the pilgrim's mass. The pilgrimage is not complete without a visit to the cathedral on the magnificent Praza do Obradoiro. Today's Distance: 14 km, 8.7 mi, 4 hours.

First-time or repeat Camino walkers. Solo travellers welcome. Minimum age 18. Travellers should be of general physical fitness, you don't need to be a power athlete.
Solo travellers are welcome. This is a great opportunity to meet other like minded travellers that enjoy walking and the concept of completing a Camino together. You can enjoy this solo or with existing friends; and make new friendships along the way.
This section of the Camino is a moderate walk suitable for most travellers with a basic level of fitness. You'll cover roughly 20 km a day on rolling countryside paths, with a mix of gentle hills and flat stretches. If you're comfortable walking for a few hours at a steady pace, you'll do well. Many first-timers choose this route, and there's no rush — you can take breaks, enjoy the scenery, and go at your own rhythm.
A bit of pre-trip walking helps, but you don't need to be an athlete. Just bring good shoes, a little preparation, and an open spirit. If you're ready for a rewarding challenge and an unforgettable experience, this is an achievable adventure.
